I do a lot of cryptoquips and word jumbles but have never been able to get a handle on sudoku.
I think I'm even more confused now.

I’m gonna brag, but somebody check me.

I play in expert and hard levels and my best game was done in a little over 18 minutes, for a total of 49,995 points.

    So, less time wasted....:)

I've been watching Cracking the Cryptic on YouTube for the last few weeks. It's quite entertaining in a quirky, British way.

I used to do sudoku in the newspaper, but have ceased after ending my relationship with a woman who subscribed to the paper. I would only do Thursday through Saturday, i.e., the harder puzzles.

I was always able to complete all the Saturday puzzles. Except one. It has bedeviled me, over and over. I am half convinced that it had some inherent error to begin with, that prevented it from ever being solved. I didn’t have the answer until I found it online from some paper in Denver or something. I downloaded the filled in grid answer, but without looking at it to see the solution, as my pride is paramount.

I still have the original puzzle somewhere, and if I can find it I will upload it here to see if any of you mavens can solve it. Maybe this is the perfect time to return to it.

If you like cryptoquips, you might want to try cryptoquotes. They are a little harder, but much more interesting than the cryptoquips that I have seen.

As a retired Maths GEEK ( my job) I still have to do some Maths every day. Also at least one crosword puzzle. Play guitar and do mods and repairs - gotta keep it or lose it.;)

I got good at the 4x4x4x4 suduko puzzles. Then I realized I had better things to do with my time.

And yes, this was before I joined TDPRI.:D

    And yes, I am a math geek.

It’s an app on my IPad, and it will probably work on iPhone as well. Probably a dozen apps on Android but I haven’t looked.

This is the icon for the specific app I’m using, hope it helps:
