Hi, I have a72 tele custom RI and when I got it the screw holes in the body that hold on the pick guard were stripped out. Is there a way to repair this? Thanks!
Wooden toothpicks and superglue or white wood glue in the holes. Then reinsert the screws. This also works for the screw holes that hold the strap button screws.

I use the narrow end of the flat-style toothpicks and (as said above) as many as I can jam in the hole along with a liberal amount of Elmer's Carpenters glue. Wipe up the excess with a damp paper towel.
I always let the glue dry before nipping them flush with the hole. The toothpick wood is soft, so the screws bite in very easily and the glue helps it hold the thread shape if you have to remove things again.
I've done this for most any stripped out screw hole in the guitar, except for the neck. Then I glue in hardwood dowel and re-drill.
Toothpicks work well. I recently discovered that the bamboo skewers that you use for kebabs are the PERFECT fit for normal pickguard holes. Dip the tip of the skewer in some glue and wedge it in the hole [I know that sounds like a filthy euphemism.]. Wait a hour, nip it off, redrill, and BOOM....perfectly plugged holes.
