When I worked on the Strats a few things popped up in my memory.

When the owner played the Yellow 81 with his band in the mid 1980s I did some recordings and maneged the soundsystem ( PA ) at some gigs they did, funny that just came back in my memory now

When he bought the White 67 he was not old enough to have a drivers licence so I drove him the 100 miles or so to the seller.

He ( the seller ) told us that he was playing with a dance-music band and that the guitar was more of a tool than a collector item to him so he wanted a new guitar to make his living on and therefor sold his old workhorse-strat.

I remember now also that he told us that the original color was sunburst.

Now it is time for me to give the Strats some playingtime then we will se if the owner wants them back or else they will be a nice add to my small collection of CBS-Fenders.

I'm curious. If the Oly White 67 became your guitar, would you replace the pickguard that has the extra holes drilled in it?

I think I'd look for a cool aged layered white pickguard and put the stock one (with extra holes) away for safe keeping.

The nut is not original and I do not know what the 4 extra holes are for.

Something like that?
