Strat XII pickup routing

I'm thinking of picking up a MIJ Strat XII as something of a 12-string pickup testbed, but only if I can avoid cutting out wood from the body. Swapping pickguards, wiring, etc. doesn't bother me if I can still return the guitar to stock. Does anyone know if these bodies are routed to take anything other than SSS pickups? Something like HSH or a universal rout?

I know the answer may be "it depends" since these things were made for something like 30 years, but I'll take whatever info I can get!

This book...

...includes a sort of review/breakdown of various Strat models, including a MIJ XII. The pictures show very "specific" Strat routing; just enough wood removed to fit your traditional Strat electronics, including traditional Strat single-coils.

No idea if this speaks for all MIJ XII's or a particular model/year/range.
