Back again. I just came over to TDPRI while the storm of bad connectivity passed.

Wasn't me. Squier-Talk just disappeared for a few minutes, but Strat-Talk is a pain lately.

I'm well...up to my eyeballs in a doctoral program that I'm having serious second thoughts about. It's a boatload of work.

    Hardly play anymore...arthritis.

Gave up trying to login into Strat-Talk...kept getting the server error message. But I can sneak in as a voyeur...strange that I don't have "banned" under my name like Pilk does.

Say hello to everyone for me. Maybe ask Fezz if I'm forgiven? Ahhh, on second thought, don't, the cornfield was sorta peaceful.

I'm sorry to hear about your arthritis :( Did you get banned? The doctoral program sounds interesting, what is it if you don't mind me asking?

Connection to ST is pretty spotty.

Sorry to hear your arthritis is stopping you playing, I'm getting pretty close myself.

I assume I got the boot for suggesting that ST's failure to post an 'out of order' sign was rude. I haven't been able to login since.

I've moved out of theoretical and applied science to...
History. I'm still just a "student"...I was hoping to become a "candidate" last month, but the world moves at its own pace.

This past year has been awful. It's in my fingers. They say the remedy is continuous use of the afflicted joints...

Easier said than done. But I'm a wuss...pain makes me cranky. I do miss it though. Playing. I look at my guitars and cellos and ...

    Yeah, that.

I'm scared that if I stop, I might never get started again, but winter is always the worst time for me. I can't safely hold anything smaller than a guitar.

I'm sorry for you guys. Chronic pain is a b*tch, I watch it from a close distance every day.

Have you had a doctor check you out, do blood work and that sort of thing?

I ask because a couple of years ago my hands started to ache (fret hand more than picking hand) and I figured it was from years of repetitive stress and that sort of thing. A sports med guy I know checked me and said it wasn’t arthritis so I was relieved but still with the aching hands. Warm water made them better. Anyway within a year or two of this aching in my hands, I had a problem with my immune system overacting and putting me in a fairly dire situation. I had several unpleasant visits to the hospital as a result. The blood work they did showed very high levels of inflammation in my system. It’s a reading of C-Reactive Proteins in my blood. The fix is a daily dose of pills to shut down my immune response and since I’ve been taking them, the aching in my hands is gone. Lots of other aches and pains but the hands are back to normal and pain free for the most part.

I can't speak for @rolandson but mine is osteoarthritis, the drugs I was given by my old doctor did it no good, but completely wrecked my stomach, so now I can't even take painkillers.

Yes. There are several physicians who have me to thank for the funding of their vacation homes.

As with @beagle I too am osteoarthritic. Nothing to be done.

Damn... Osteoarthritis. That's what I thought I was experiencing because it runs on my mum's side. Fortunately or unfortunately my joint pain was a side effect of an autoimmune disorder. Still slightly apparent in winter months but gone in milder weather as long as I take my pills (which wreak havoc on my digestive system).

Sorry to hear about the osteo.
