Strat switch tip on my Tele

    I picked up this 60th Anniversary Tele on Reverb and it came with a Strat switch tip. At first I was put off by it, but it’s really growing on me! I even went back to it after putting a proper barrel tip on it.

    It solves the issue some people have of the switch being hard to flip when it’s in the bridge position next to the volume knob... but to me it just seems a little wrong. I’ll probably change my mind in the next week and put them on my teles though.

    I replaced a bad switch on my 72 thinline with a Ernie Ball and then realized after wiring in it was a strat three way and a tele knob doesn't fit. Next i realized i installed it backwards so down is up and visa versa, but i like it and being a neck player, for the most part it stays away from my pinky finger. Anyone else have that problem on a strat with your pinky flipping it from #1 position to # 2? I hate that about the strat!

    I’m a strat tip convert. My fingers bump the switch with a barrel or top hat, even with the switch lever bent away from me. I tried a strat tip, wasn’t crazy about the look, but realized it worked better for me, so that’s what I stuck with.

    Never even thought about a strat tip. Can’t do the top hat things though. Just switched one on an affinity yesterday.

    [email protected] got me started on the Strat tip a few years back.

    I have barrel and top hat on other Tele's too. Probably won't switch to the Strat tip exclusively.

    But, it does work just fine. And I don't have a problem with the look.

    All 3 of my Teles have Strat tips on them. Can't stand anything else.
