Another vote for Couch guitar straps. Their quality is immaculate.
I have a thing for tartan/plaid. Must be the Scottish blood.
I recently bought this Levy's strap from MF and it's now my fav.
Found this picture:
A dearly-departed friend made this one for me 30-something years ago.
I don't need anything fancy.
I'm going to be minimally helpful because these guys sell out their best straps right away because they are incredible, and I don't want everyone else grapping the amazing ones -- I want them!
just Google 'em. Made from recycled, antique kimonos. Wow.
Beautiful strap. Do you take it off whenever you close the guitar in the case? If not, are you concerned that the metal on the strap might scratch up your guitar?
I bought a couple of these off Ebay for around $12 each. They're cheap and they seem to compliment any of my guitars.
Just discovered Mother Mary straps. Very nicely made and comfortable. I haven't decided which guitar this one's going on yet. They work well on banjo too.
My favorites have been Souldier's, ever since I got the "Lennon Rooftop" one for my LP Melody Maker. My favorite is one of their skinny straps with a Celtic pattern and shoulder pad:
I needed a heavier strap for the 10 pound "Prinz" Harley Benton I modded earlier this year, and I remembered this strap that had an interesting sizing adjustment, from Right-On straps:
I like it so much I may get another in black for my other favorite Tele.
None of my electrics live in cases. That particular guitar was a scratch and dent special when it was bought, and later I chunked all the poly off and refinned it with a very thin coat of Tru-oil. Not concerned about scratches on that baby. That said, I’ve never noticed any damage from when it goes into its gig bag.
That strap never comes off that guitar (which came from the same friend). I hardly ever remove a strap from a guitar once I’ve got the “right" one on there.
