I want to add a strangle switch to my mustang. I've searched and not found a clear simple diagram. I know it's simple. Any body have a diagram?

It's just 2 single coils and a 3 way. Not the traditional mustang circuit

It's basically a bass cut switch that comes stock on fender jaguars

Just Google bass cut switch or low pass filter. Take your pick. Lots of ways to do it. I made one of my pots on my Les Paul into a variable low pass filter (call it a bass cut knob and the other pot a treble cut). Different value caps will affect it differently.

If you want to pick one pup, just take it's hot lead and "feed" the strangle switch with it, then the wire shown there going to the pot would go to your sel. switch.

You can see here how the Jaguar does it: upload_2020-6-3_8-48-36.png
They call it a “Mid Tone Cut Switch”. 3nF (0.003uF) capacitor in-line between the pickups and the output (the cap is shorted out by the switch when the ‘strangle’ is disengaged).
https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Original/10001/011-2100A_SISD.pdf — you can find technical details for a whole lot of current and recent Fenders there.

    BTW it’s a high-pass filter, not a low-pass, if you’re googling it...

Beautiful, so I wired it up yesterday. Tested with no strings on and it sounds like it's working correctly when tapping the pups I can hear a definitive high pass effect when the switch is engaged.

Last question. I assume the switch needs to be grounded to the 3 way toggle and the pots, correct?
