    I wish more steel guitar was in music today. It's such a lovely sound to my ears.

    That thing is about as heavy as a refrigerator. *grin*

    Doug Baumier....I recognized his hands. Yes, I have watched a few of his videos. Fantastic steel player. Thanks for the post.....I am down in Tulum, Mexico on our 20th anniversary. We were married on the beach in Maui at about 8:30 A.M. o the morning of February 24, 2000. I think I’ll listen to some more of Doug’s YouTube offerings.....

    When Stranger on the Shore was first released in the early 60’s and added to the juke box in my dad’s bar, it must have been played 500 times a day.
    It’s rare that an instrumental song gets very far on the radio, but SOTS was certainly the exception.

    Wow thanks so much for posting that. Somehow ~music nerd that I am~ had never heard Stranger on the Shore until my brother mentioned it being one of his favorite songs 10 or so years ago.
    He passed away shortly afterward and I have not been able to remember the name of it.
