Trimmed and looking pretty good. Next to do a small position slot then sand the board. Then time to fret it lol 🤣

Final shaping complete, will measure veneer next 🥴

This is why I did this, extra support. Also why I can't attach the neck with nails, sorry Stradivari 😕

No affiliation, just really good results by your truly in the past.. StringsByMail has a pretty good offering of individual classical/nylon type strings available. I've bought lots of D'addario and some LaBella in the past.

For basses (wound) strings:
Standard silverplayed wound over nylon filament core. Gauges 0.019 through 0.06 available.

For unwound, there are even more options. You may have to search deep in the menu/products to find brands that offer a good selection of conventional nylon singles and the like. But, rest assured, there ARE there. You might even check their specialty sets to see if they have most (but probably not all) of the gauges needed.

Prices are reasonable, although sometimes a few other sellers beat them on certain items.

FYI / Hope that helps.

Was just checking them out 😀, unfortunately you really have to pay attention. Labella offers a so called Baroque Set but alas it really isn't, it's for a Baroque Romantico

Slotting for the "frets". I wanted them to be somewhat anchored in place as I'm not tying gut frets (though I have played them) any time soon 😉

Oh Jerry Rosa has retired from instrument repair and building (bad arthritis). A bit sad 😢

Dowels or skewers?
Shish kabobs skewers, may have to change to something else. For sure need to use a board to clamp them because the clamps mashed them somewhat. I'm probably using Nygut strings so maybe dowels, I'm a little stumped
I'm using early Baroque rentrant tuning which will help. I was going to get Labella but all they offer is baroque Romantico from later on and I know they'd do a custom set but damn the cost. I could get gut from Italy cheaper 😳

would nylon strings be similar enough..I mean you are making some tradeoffs to the guitar already.

Second coat of Tru-Oil 😁, already have a bag of 1/8" birch dowels reserved until my check arrives 😏😏😏😏.
Took a set of baroque rentrant strings and wrote down the sizes (metric naturally 🙄).
Damn, the first string a .019? I'm not sure I've ever seen a nylon.019 😳
