"Stop," James Gang version

So basement band I'm in has been working on James Gang version of "Stop." Struggling with chords & bass line & timing of the chorus: "Never knew how good love could be,
love has gone and made a fool of me.
Everything is hazy,
one more kiss could drive me crazy"

That part. We think we hear some F to G (to D?) & Bflat to G going on

Would appreciate any help from out there.

Chorus:

F G | D F | G F | D F | G Bb | G Bb | G Bb(hold 8 beats first time and 16 for solo)

They anticipate the beat by coming in just before the beat, such as on the 'and' of 4.
