Hi. I don't currently have a Telecaster, but I will have another one before too long.

I did, however, destroy the value of a 1968 Pink Paisley by refinishing it in 1976 (I thought I did a pretty good job). ;) I hope that doesn't disqualify me from joining this forum.

I also just requested my membership on Strat-Talk be terminated (I was there a week). I don't want to discuss politics, sexuality, or religion, but I will not stand for being censored for an innocuous statement.

Welcome....and Telecasters are recommended but not required.
BTW, just don't expect innocuous statements to necessarily be tolerated here, either. You've been warned. ;)

Howdy, Tex. If I didn't live in Florida, I would live in Texas.

Welcome to the TDPRI Florida man!

As for having ruined the value of only one vintage Fender in your storied past?
    Novice!

    WRT "innocuous statements"?

Can I get credit for violating a National Duolian? The (cropped) document below came in the mail a couple of hours ago.

Why don't you tell the kind folks here what you said on strat talk that you feel was censored? Pretty sure I saw that thread. You'll find TDPRI will tolerate much less.

Welcome I grew up on the Gulf. I will warn you I got a week ban for using Bezos and taxes in a sentence.

The specifics aren't even important. Also, the moderator is not here to defend him/herself. Posts have a report button; I was not reported and was not going to be reported. If I had been reported, I would have voluntarily edited my post. I would never intentionally offend anyone. I take free speech seriously, and anyone with their eyes open can see free speech being being assaulted daily. When a movement gets its own name (Cancel Culture), you know it is not a 'conspiracy theory'. It certainly did not help my attitude to be censored while posting from my living room in my own country by a European moderator whose sensibilities I am unlikely to share. I hope this post does not violate any guidelines, and I really hope we can get back to the business of talking guitars and making music.

I read the TOS that pretty much banned using politician's names (which is probably a good thing). I have no desire to speak of anything but music on this site.

In absence of any concrete evidence you harmed said guitar, the court of TDPRI declines prosecution at this time.
    Nice try though!

Fair enough. Be aware there is no free speech on this forum either. You're once again in someone else's house. Peace

I would posit that I actually made the guitar "better". Mr. Gruhn would vehemently disagree.

The newly polished brass resonator cover and black lacquer finish were positively beautiful in my 12-year old eyes. The "new" finish is now 53 years old and does not look too bad (from a distance). Since the guitar is only worth $1500, I think I'll refinish it again. ;)
