I own 7 Telecasters presently. Just recieved a new Stonetree Teleslayer built by Scott Platts of Stonetree Custom Guitars in Saratoga Wyoming. If you check out his site you will likely see a couple of famous names there that he has also built for.
This Tele has Lindy Frailin pickups. A Tele pickup in the bridge and a Fralin Humbucker in the neck. My oh my, what a great combo. The body wood is Swamp Ash [one peice] Maple neck with an awesome Maple finger board. Locking tuners. Calaham bridge with brass saddles. Body binding front and back as well as the neck but not the head stock. The ax is bright and toneful without plugging in. It actually produces a lot of volume for being unplugged. Plugging the sucker in is all I could ask for. I asked Scott to build the most traditional sounding Tele and this guitar has the deffinite Tele edge in spades. The middle position gives the sweetests freaking blend of highs and neck tone. incredible soun. The bridge pickup lays teletones for days. That big humbucker in the neck is probly the best sounding neck pickup on a tele that I have heard. The other Tele's I have are 2 Zion's, 3 Schecter Califorina Customs, and a G&L Astat Classic. They have a variety of neck finger boards and body wods. The finish on the Stonetree is White with the binding and the Wyoming bucking horse 'Steamboat' inlaid at the 12th fret. If I knew how to load a pic I would do so. But I am so challanged with computer stuff. Anyway, I was hoping to see if there are any other Stonetree owners out there. This is my third Stonetree guitar. Scott has built a Strat for me also and a J200 style Acoustic. All of his builds are really, really well done. Perhaps this will be the start of a Stonetree Owners Club here. My favorite amps are Sewell Customs of which I own 5. Carry on and looking forward to hearing from other owners out there.Love to talk to you's
