Yeah I did it. Last stop on this US tour, in the 7000 seat Hard Rock Live venue. Floor tix because I’d have regretted it the rest of my life if I didn’t seize this chance.

I was a couple of people back from the rail on stage left side. Awesome show according to me. It’s so obvious they are really having fun up there. I made (very brief) eye contact with Keef, so I can die happy now. You can tell he’s sorta scanning the fans, giving many people a look. Jagger, on the other hand, only looked at the girls on either side of me:lol:

I only took a few pics/vids. Was there to watch, not watch my phone. Plus I knew (hell I could see) there were fans doing vid, and I could watch that later.

Here’s a sample, imho they killed this:

I was a little too young to attend, but years ago they played Toad's Place in New Haven, a small club, for a shakedown gig before they started a US tour. It was on a night that the club usually hosted their dance party with a DJ, and they didn't let on that anything special was going to happen. This was pre-cell phones, and they covered the pay phone inside so no one could call out and break the news. A very few lucky people were treated to a once in a lifetime experience.

I remember that one local noticed the manager of Toad's walking out of the liquor store around the corner with several bottles of Rebel Yell whiskey, Keith's drink at the time. The guy who noticed was a regular in the area and he went to Toad's that night thinking that something was going to happen. I think the cover charge was $3 at the time.

Glad you got to see an awesome event.

Toad's Place in New Haven[/QUOTE]
Epic venue. I'm from New Haven. The list of people playing Toad's Place is incredible, and it's great to have a place with such a long, great legacy. For a while, the New Haven area was exploding with music, from local bands to major acts warming up for big tour dates in Boston and, especially, NYC. From "unknowns" like the early Jethro Tull (or CSN) in small clubs to Hendrix and the Dead, for ex., in big spaces, it was just a wonderful scene and Toad's has kept it going.

So cool that you got to see the show!

The videographer (i.e., the guy holding the smartphone) is in a great spot, which is really highlighted when Jagger and Sascha Allen come to the lip of the stage. One of the great thing about fan videos vs. pro-shot is that they don't have a million distracting cuts. Even the multi-cam fan cuts tend to be less look-at-me,-I'm editing than the pro stuff. U2 shows seem to have the best fan-shot multi-cam cuts.

I know you are one of the biggest Stones fans here, so I could not be happier to see your dream come true. I’ve seen them three times in concert and they have been my favorite band since I was a kid.

Thanks:) You may remember this, but it bears repeating. I wasn’t really a huge Stones fan until I returned to guitar seven years ago. When I started seriously learning I found my “style” meshed up with Keith. And off I went…

I saw that floor seat tickets were going for $12K the night of.

When I bought the pair of tix ($2K x 2), I figured I could sell one and get paid to go to the show:eek:

But it was more fun to go with an old friend:)

Of course we wanted to stay in the Hard Rock hotel that’s shaped like a Les Paul, but they had quadrupled their rates for that night. $1600 is a little much for a hotel:rolleyes: My friend knows the area well and got us a cool place a short Uber ride away. Neither of us gamble so the casino wasn’t an attraction.

After I got my shots for my (digital) scrapbook at the Cotton Bowl, I thought to myself, I'm not going to be one of those people attending a rock concert and watching it through his iPhone the entire time. It made it much more enjoyable to savor the moment.

That's how I feel. Let some other bozo you don't know record it for you. I took one photo of the stage before the show, and didn't look at my phone after it started.

From looking at the videos from this tour it seems like Keith is playin' the hell out of that new old gibson! Sounds great even on my little JBL desktop speakers.

Yeah the tone he gets out of a junior is insane. I think he may have good guitars and amps:cool:

Congratulations! It’s been many, many years since I saw the Stones and realize I probably won’t see them again. But I have memories
