So, I'm thinking I "might" finally break down and get an actual Telecaster with this upcoming stimulus check. My homebuilt T-model I've been slinging since 2016 is alright, but I might enjoy the real thing a little better.

I was wanting a Les Paul Junior, but man - I'm having a hard time justifying what those things cost nowadays. So, I'm considering the Squier Classic Vibe or the Player Series Telecasters.

How much different is the quality between the two? I'm not super picky about what's on the headstock, since I've only played budget guitars up to this point, but kinda excited to maybe get something that says "Fender" on it.

Anybody else got their eye on a "stimulus guitar?"

Nope. We are looking to get windows, a garage door, and a front door though - extra cash will probably go there.

I’m be using my check to live on and buy groceries. Especially since it wouldn’t buy any of the only guitars I’m interested in owning these days. At least not new.

To answer your question, I think there’s a pretty large and easily discernible quality difference as you step up the ladder. Others disagree. Play them and see what you think.

I might have built this with my stimulus check... I might have put my stimulus in savings. I'm not entirely sure. But I made it as a gift to myself for surviving an illness before Christmas!

To be fair this one only cost me about $150 because all I had to buy was the fretboard and truss rod amd a few other odds and ends. I pulled all the parts out of another jaguar I don't get along with. So this was a good chea build!

I bought my Tele on stimulus check round 1 back in April or whenever.

With this one I plan to be entirely responsible and put it straight in the bank...until the right Martin comes along.

I might use some to get a laptop for recording , I haven’t had a computer for nearly ten years now. I wanted to do it anyways but now I have a reason haha

I’m not getting a check. I don’t need it. I have all the guitars I need and a great amp to play them thru. I’m retired with all the time in the world to play them. I count my blessings.

    I have nomex pockets lately.
Sold all my electrics except for my tele and a bunch of other accumulated stuff.
    Scratched a 25 year old itch for a Martin with a HD-28V.
    I’m calm.

Spent 1/3 of my stimmy on a nice used 65 PRRI and stand. The owner let me test it out with a Nash S Type and now I’m gassing for that!

I'm good for guitars for the time being. Someday if the right ES-330 comes my way I will need to buy that, and a Jazzmaster would be fun to try out. But I have a new-to-me bender tele and AC30 already this year, so no complaints.

These were funded partially by stimulus. That’s the point right, get the economy moving.

    Don't know,

Car repair and household items come first, then we will see.

Money is tight with us ( very little income), so although me spending our stimulus $$ may be a good thing for the economy, buying guitar stuff for me ( and not on home, saving, or donating a bit) seems wrong.

Nope. Gotta have someone come prune tree branches away from power lines in my backyard, replace part of my fence. Probably won't be any $$ left...:(
