everyone runs to opoids now and then bang they're hooked.

My mother (in her 80s) literally broke her back and took nothing stronger than tylenol for it.
When I got my triple bypass, they gave me a bunch of pain meds. I took one and quit. The thought of going through all that and then facing a possible drug problem was overwhelming.

During her last few years, my mom had a number of ailments, and every single time she went in they gave her some kind of opioid, and she refused to take it. Only in her final days did we finally use the heavier stuff. They literally hand it out like candy.

What a drag. Thought they were beyond all this.
Yeah... I hear ya H.E.
The problem is for a lot of old rockers... we begin to deal with pain. Which as we all know sometimes takes back down the path all over again.

A slippery slope indeed...

See, this is what happens when a guy gets in his 70s. The doctors push so many legal pharmaceuticals down your throat, adverse reactions happen and then its of to rehab for us old codgers.
