Second version of the band: Ashley Hutchings, Maddy Prior, Tim Hart, Martin Carthy, Peter Knight. No regular drummer in this version of the band. Lots of Fenders, though.

    Clunky interview and dulcimer-building included:

On the beach (there's also Fairport footage from this concert):

Maddie Pryor and Annie Haslan...great voices, great bands.

I got to see Annie in concert a few years back. Still has her pipes!

Back in those days I was just beginning to get into AM radio.
I must admit, I had Steeleye Span, Steely Dan and Steeler's Wheel hopelessly confused.

In the mid-seventies, a friend kind of dumped Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, Pentangle and a few others on me (metaphorically) and so for a long time I had difficulty making distinctions between them.....but I did like them all. Pentangle was probably my favorite, due to John Renbourn and Bert Jansch. But...thanks for posting. ;)

I have great trouble deciding among those three bands. I do think I prefer Steeleye while Ashley Hutchings was still a member, and definitely the pre-drummer versions.
