Occurred to me that I hadn't posted a pic of my lap steel yet.

And now I have.

Fender 1954 Studio Deluxe

Here is my 1954 Studio Deluxe. I love it! I'm also very bad at it!! Just blues runs for me at the moment and it only features in two songs the band I'm in play live. But I really do enjoy playing it. And at 49 years old - its good to have an instrument where I can sit down and play!

This is my current favorite but my d8 string master is always out and ready to play.

Got this 8 string Morrell a little while ago. Having lots of fun learning. It sounds pretty good for a lower price steel.

Just found this thread! I'll start small;
Monkey Wards Airline Rocket (Valco), and '39? Gibson D-7. An obvious custom-ordered guitar.

Here's a different kinda "Plexi." Late Forties Orpheum. Plexiglass everywhere! And, there are two lightbulbs inside it. Yes! It lights up! 120 volts just sittin' on your lap!

The "Bottleneck Sisters."
A 1935 Dobro M-32, and a 1937 Regal-made Dobro(sweetest-sounding reso I've ever heard!) Both round neck guitars.

1967 ShoBud S-10, 6 pedals, 2 levers. It's currently in an extended Low Bass G Bottleneck tuning. Fun! And my favorite, a dead mint '74 ShoBud S-10, 3 pedals, 6 levers. Abdo-lutely looks brand new! Case too.

A group shot of the older guitars. The '67 rack and barrel in front, the '59 ShoBud Permanent in the middle, and the 63? ShoBud Fingertip in the rear.

My incredible workhorse! Early to Mid-Eighties Kline Keyless Universal 12 string. Everything about it is stunning! Design, machining, quality are as good as it gets.

Oops! Almost forgot this one. Lapsteel Tele, with a Lapdancer Redneck, squareneck conversion neck. Ancient Barden in the bridge. Hot Rails.

I had a Rickenbacher like the OP's only it was battleship grey. I guess it was post-war.

My main lap steel is a '47 National New Yorker tuned in open E. I also have a Harmony acoustic from the '60's with a raised nut and a Lace Sensor soundhole pickup in C6.

What I really want is double eight National console. I've messed with PSG, but I'm not dedicated enough to master it. I can screw around on lap steel and get away with it.
