The giants picked up Yaz's grandson and while he is a career minor leaguer, he has been nails for the giants! The horrible team that they are... they are streaking toward the wildcard (okay, not really, but the team is exciting with him.)

    so fun to watch #8!

Pathetic Mets ? Horrible Giants ?

    Two teams at +/- .500

Greetings from the worst team in MLB.

    .313

We’d take Al Kaline’s grand-nephew in law or Jack Morris’s retired mailman if they would help us.

The worst thing is as always - the amazing $$$ talent we got rid of to rebuild , that wasn’t getting it done when we were contenders ?

Almost all of them are positively thriving in their new teams.

You’re welcome . (Tigers just could not put all the pieces together during that era - for whatever reason. But, a lot of teams have done a lot more with a lot less)

A friend of mine visited the Hall of Fame after the Red Sox World Series win in 2004. He was accompanied by his wife, children and in-laws. The in-laws are Italian immigrants who moved to Boston and made a living as tailors. When they were finished with the visit, my friend asked his in-laws for their impression. They said it was nice and that they saw a former customer. My friend thought that his in-laws were referring to some other visitors, and when he asked who they saw, their response was "Mr. Yastrzemski."

I remember it was either during that series or the ALCS from a subsequent year where McCarver was sick and Terry Francona sat in .

Right then , I realized what a great baseball mind Francona had and the contrast from McCarver was stunning.

Then the Indians got him and I don’t think Illitch tried very hard at all ...

The Mets continue to underwhelm almost every series this season.

They recently played the Marlins who were supposed to be the worst team in the NL East and got swept then get trounced by the Phillies who were supposed to be in trouble. Now they play the Giants who have been looking bad until a couple of weeks and lose the series to them.

Conforto can't get it through his head to bunt down the third baseline and get on base and keeps striking or flying out. Frazier seems to be over the hill. Rosario keeps making errors. Cano might be over the hill too but we're stuck with him for 4 years. Cespedes was supposed to be back about now but broke his ankle at home. They put Smith in the outfield but he doesn't know how to play out there.

The bullpen...I could go on and on.

The Giants were looking good in almost every phase of the game except for the one loss against the Mets.
