    Hi.

Just noticed that the Black Keys added this video the other day. Might be my fav song off Delta Kream.

Yes mine also, I am slightly let down with Delta Kream as whole though.

    A Junior Kimbrough Classic.

I was glad to see BK go back to the Hill Country sound of some of their earlier works, but disappointed in the song selection a bit. there are so many good Hill Country songs but the Keys and NM Allstars seem to keep recording the same ones over and over. I thought Chulahoma EP was better than this album.

    Hi.

    I really like Delta Kream.

But, it does have a kind of tight, heavy slickness (or something - struggling a little with adjectives here) that kind of speaks to an ‘accessible & widely appealing’ interpretation.

But then I think, ‘well, it is just homage, and far better than often occurs, so why not?’ and slip back into the groove.

I have one R. L. Burnside and one Junior Kimbrough album, and a couple by Mississippi Fred McDowell, and nothing much else from this area. So, I don’t know / haven’t heard enough to feel like the songs on Delta Kream are over done or don’t fit, etc. Which is good for me I guess, but not so great for those more into this or with wider tastes and / or collections.

I too really like the EP I can never accurately remember the name of, let alone spell. Ch is as far as a I get before I need to look it up. Wait a sec…

Chulahoma. Man, I wasn’t even close in my mind - had a ’wampa’ in their somewhere. But, yeah, it’s great. Bit more raw too, production wise, which fits.

    Heh, yeah.

Although, I do have some. The wee 'mail in to get on our mailing list' thing that comes with the CDs is funny.
