What do you have and what stage? A good friend of mine has throat cancer, but his treatments are going really well.

Best wishes. I know the uncertainty is very difficult -- I spent a year dealing with a colo-rectal cancer diagnosis -- but treatments are improving really rapidly. My recommendation is always to fight for the best doctor available in your system and top never, ever settle for generic treatment. I had to file a grievance with my medical group because they were just doing a by-the-numbers job for me. As soon as a cancer patient registers a grievance, with the liability that goes with it, other doors can open. I hope you're happy with your doctors, in which case, great. But if anything seems shaky, well, it's your life and you should speak up. In addition to successful treatment, I also met several wonderful people along the way. We're pulling for you. Be positive and strong.

Sending good vibes your way. My father recently switched from chemo, to radiation, and then back to chemo. I can tell you the period of radiation was a relative breeze. This was a much more aggressive and late-stage situation than yours, so I'm sure you will sail through with no problems.

Prayers up for your dad. I hope he's doing well.
