Surprisingly, it seems to be easier than it has been the past few years. I just started this week with a half mile out and back. Also follow that up with a 7 mile bike ride. With the bike ride it depends on how hard the wind is blowing to measure the kind of workout you get out of it. Today it was windy on the way back so that part was a real workout.

I never got into jogging for fitness...

walking, riding, bikes, swimming, surfing and working on my feet seemed more than enough exercise....

nowadays my old knees and ankles wouldn't handle the pounding...

Chet, You're lucky your joints will tolerate running at our age. A scoliosis force me to quit distance running decades ago. It did, however, lead to biking which is my daily cardio ever since. Enjoy your good health!

I'll never run again (8 back doctors in seven years agree)...but bikes and walking, bring it on!

The only time I ever saw a runner smile was when somebody's running partner fell over.

Jogging is a natural antidepressant. There is nothing like it. I do 1 to 2 miles when I have time and energy, feel fantastic for days afterwards... It will show how out of shape we get, especially when caged up too long. It kills anxiety too.

Been walking at least a mile a day combat cabin fever.

Joints won't tolerate running, but I do cycle 2000+ miles a year.

Last may I couldn't jog more than 2 mins without aching an having breathing problems.
I kept working at it and by the close of the summer I was doing 2.25 mile jogs with 9.30-10.00 min miles. Still not very fast.

This past week I've been pushing 3 miles with one or two 3.25 mile jogs. I'm not a fast jogger but just getting out there and pushing myself feels great with all the stress in the current world.

Yeah, the last couple of years was a lot tougher to get started for some reason. The year after I moved back to the Midwest I was crouching down to put air in a tire of my bike and my back went out. Then when summer came I was really in bad shape.

This winter I lifted dumb-bells and did stomach exercises pretty regularly. I don't think I gained too much weight even though I like donuts (need to quit those).

I used to love running when I was in my twenties. I didn't feel right unless I ran a few miles even through winter.

Just went out to jog my mile today. A couple of blocks down the road a guy was sitting on his front doorstep hacking his brains out the whole time I passed by. Luckily he was on the other side of the road. I'm going to report him to the sheriff so they can check on him. He might spread it all over my small town.

Everyone loves running...it is in our DNA. Just look at a child for proof, as soon as they can walk they are running and all smiles. Something goes wrong when we become adults.

I miss it badly and even toyed with the idea of training for another marathon in the fall after taking a full 5 years off, but then my right knee bent backwards walking to the garage this morning. No serious damage, but clearly not up for running anymore and would have fully buckled if I was in mid-stride.
