Stand by switch?

    I am in the camp that also believes they aren't actually needed. If your amp uses a tube rectifier, you have a nice slow startup anyway as the the rectifier begins to heat up and deliver current. Even in my amps with SS rectification, I rarely use the standby anymore. Just take a look at old televisions sets. They were full of tubes and none of them ever came with a standby switch.

    Correct. Well, correct with one drummer. Thought the cable was defective because the amp was on and guitar volume up. It took him 2 practices before he realized what was going on.
    In the future I hope to find drummers a touch brighter. Maybe not "I can solve a rubix cube" level, but a little brighter.
