    Rat is a good stacker
    - signature sound to it
    - tone + volume controls together can powerfully shape the sound without sounding like too much EQ
    - gain control goes all the way down to zero

    imo

I liked both the klon and the od-820 into a bluesbreaker/KoT ... getting that clean blend pedal ahead of a traditional od gave it a ton of versatility without destroying the noise floor(my biggest complaint about od stacking)

Of the dirt I currently own and combinations I've tried and like:

RAT>Marvel Drive or ODR-1 or BB Pre or Spark Booster or RC Booster or EP Booster
    TS>RAT or Muff
BB Pre>RC Booster or Spark Booster or EP Booster
Muff>Marvel Drive or ODR-1 or BB Pre or Spark Booster or RC Booster or EP Booster
Fuzz Face>Marvel Drive or ODR-1 or BB Pre or Spark Booster or RC Booster or EP Booster
    Sunbender>EP Booster

Right now I'm trying to figure out what I like best after the Muff. I want to try a Colorsound Overdriver of some kind as well. Probably the Vick Audio one. I'm always lusting after something I don't have though; but I think that affliction is not a unique one on this board!

This is the correct answer. Except I use a CMATMODS Butah instead of the Black Box. I have both and the Butah just seems to work bettah with my Deluxe Reverbs. They are very similar pedals and utter bargains at $100. I add a CS-3 to boost both. And the TS-9 is really a Blue Boy Deluxe. But other than that it's exactly the same setup.

I don't do it much, but a Boss BD-2 is good for restoring some brightness if the preceding OD has created a mid-hump. I'm currently using the BD-2 as a general-purpose enhancer.

Keeley SD-1 set mid gain into Keeley RAT set mid gain (+)...using the RAT as the main dirt the SD-1 really makes leads sing with natural feedback/sustain. Pretty darn magical combo IMO.

Barber Dirty Bomb into a Donner Morpher. The Morpher adds a greasy squishy thing to the grind of the Dirty Bomb.

RAT+Big Muff that's my fave. Every now and then MXR micro amp also. :) with those three you can do pretty much everything you need imo.

Archer Ikon (Klon clone) into an LPB-1 is a great for low gain. The other way around isn't as good.

I have got a terrible case of OD pedal addiction, but my current OD stack is: JangleBox Nano(Treble Boost>Compressor)>Klone>Resuggan Audio Custom OD(Modified Bluesbreaker>Rangemaster-type Treble Booster)>Xotic EP Boost>Goodsell OverDrive II>Camel Toe Clone(Green Rhino>Red Llama)>Joyo AC Tone>Soul Food. While a little ridiculous, the options in stacking various parts of this chain lets me go all the way from transparent boost, to raunchy grind and everywhere in between. Each of these different types of boost and OD has its own sonic characteristics and tend to bump and clip different frequencies in different ways. Also having multiple Klones and multiple Treble Boosts at different spots on the chain allows for a lot of interesting tone stacking options. Ideally I want to get a programmable loop controller, so I can do the same kind of on-the-fly reordering of what feeds into what with fewer actual pedal, but until then... The ridiculous "Wall of OD" shall continue. (And, yes, I know that neither the JangleBox nor the EP Boost are technically ODs, but they do tend to drive the ODs in vary particular and beneficial ways, so I include them as part and parcel of that element of my tone.)
