I was looking at some Squier Classic Vibes and noticed the truss rod dowels were not black plastic like I was used to seeing. They looked like the walnut on American Fenders. I really like the look of the walnut but the black plastic was always a way I could tell if it was an American Fender. I am not saying this is a bad thing, it's just something I did not know was happening.

What I am used to. The black plastic truss rod dowel.

No Squier is an American Fender.

But... The Classic Vibes are nice guitars.

It’s a nice touch but will make it a little harder to spot redecalled necks in some cases. Def something to be aware of.

I don't remember ever seeing a CV Squier with anything but wood there.

The Classis Vibe Squiers have different built specs than the Affinity or the standard series. The biggest issue I see now is people trying to pass off a SV neck as a MIA neck when the Fender decal is added.

True, that's why I said I've never seen anything else than "(brown) wood" (whatever it may be) on a Squier CV Telecaster... I've seen plastic on many Squiers and nothing at all for some.

I'm not happy with people "faking" a guitar.. For me a Squier with a Fender decal-upgrade is worth a lot less than an untouched one.
