Squier Classic Vibe 70's Thinline Tele

Has anyone laid hands upon this new Classic Vibe Model? Squier had the Vintage Modified 72 Thinline, I loved the neck on it, would have grabbed one, but didn't have the spare cash. I now see they have discontinued this model and went to a Classic Vibe Model. For me the Classic Vibe line necks are terrible, too thin and narrow. I do hope this new model doesn't follow suit.

I haven't seen them here yet. Not sure if the neck has changed much from the VM model to the CV. Personally, I would try a search in the used market, or maybe smaller sellers that still carry VM stock.

I have a Classic Vibe Jaguar, and the neck is not MIC Classic Vibe thin. The MII Jag neck is fairly chunky, not like a VM Mustang, but still pretty decent. I don't think it's narrow either, I believe it's 1.65" wide at the nut.

I played one the other day and the neck shape was comparable to the VM '72 Thinline--it was not a thin CV neck. The neck also had a super-dark tint--looked cool.

This is odd because what i'm getting from the posts so far is the old VM 72 neck is not as thin as chinese CVs. Yet i had the VM thinline about 3-4 years ago and i sold it because the neck was so thin ! Granted, no thinner then the china CVC, but the CVC is the exception among chinese CVs and thinner then them all. I like the china CV neck, all of them except the CVC. But the VM TL i had was in the same range as the CVC.

Well that's good news. I had a Classic Vibe Thinline, the one with the Mahogany body. The tone was outstanding. One of the few guitars that could compete with my 66 Jazzmaster. I could get Jazzy mellow tones out of it or make it growl. The problem was the neck. So thin and narrow, reminded me of a banjo. Anyway, I have arthritis in my left hand, it caused me severe pain. So I had to let it go. A kind of chunky neck works for me.

Excellent....I really want one. I preferred the Squier over the Fender model.

Just picked one up “used” on reverb, but they ended up sending me a brand new one. Not mad about it, not at all The neck is smaller than my player series tele, the vintage tint is rad looking but I had to remove it from the back, it was really sticky. Once sanded down it’s the best tele neck I’ve felt. The only thing I want to change is the bridge, and, I’m gonna slap a bigsby on it. I purchased this guitar as a project guitar. I plan on doing the work myself and this will be my first time drilling a guitar. Scary but fun. Honestly it kinda pisses me off these are so nice, why did I ever spend so much before? The older I get the more I could give a shot what the headstock says.

I just recently bought a Vintage Modified Thinline from Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin and am thrilled with Her. Correct me if I'm mistaken but are not the latest run of Classic Vibes being built in Indonesia?
The Neck on the Vintage Modified is going to be a BIG SELLER if and when Fender relents and allows them to be sold by the big internet parts dealers...I'm thinking The Stratosphere...I believe that PARTS is the next big thing - just like Muscle Cars and their components I'm thinking Fast & Furious - not the Speed Shops that specialize in all things Small Block Chevy - that's for dinosaurs like me.
I cannot see the Guitar Corporations depending on Coast To Coast chains for their survival. I really expect
Guitar Center and Sam Ash to take the pipe soon - actually it's a testament to their investors that they've held out for as long as they have with their overhead and payrolls. Chains are going the way of "The Mall."
Remember The Mall Girls aka "The Maulers?" I'm dating myself...

Epilogue: The best part of the chains extinction is gonna be the return big-time of The Local Brick & Mortar
Store where it really belongs in every town.

I digress - the Neck on the Indonesian Guitars is a thing of beauty.
PRS is there now too.

Vintage modified 70s thinlines and classic vibe 70s thinlines have diffetent necks. VM are a bit thinner, CVs ate thicker

Will a warmoth neck fit on this guitar? I want to use it as a modding platform. New neck, pickups and bridge. Price is right. The only thing I would love is binding on the body. I think sunburst with binding looks sexy.
