    Hi all,

Hope you're all doing well. First time poster here, I recently finished my first major project and wanted to share the results with you. I got a SQ CV 60s Custom Tele on Thomann for less than 400 euros and refitted it with new pickups, custom control plate and electronics, a new bridge, new locking tuners and a few other parts to go along with the general gold hardware theme. The guitar already had a very comfortable neck and the bridge pickup was completely passable, but the new Twang Kings sound really really good now! The guitar already had pretty impressive build quality out of the factory for its price range but it feels great to have made it my own, even if I probably spent enough money on this to buy another Squier! So without further ado, here are some beauty shots of the final product :D

    Best,
    ursusarctos

Normally I don't like gold hardware, but that looks classy. Nice work!

Great job. I bought the same CV deluxe 60’s a couple of months ago. £322 from GAK in UK. I wanted the double bound sunburst. When it arrived I went over it with a magnifying glass, very impressed. Made in the Cort factory in Indonesia known for their superb quality control.
I liked the vintage tuners so kept them, and the bone nut was fine.
I fitted new Gotoh brass compensated saddles and replaced the pickups with Fender Tex Mex after listening to many different replacement pickups on YouTube. Having said that the original pickups weren’t half bad but I had been given the Tex Mex for a birthday present so decided to fit them.
    Really pleased with the result.

Like the gold hardware too with sunburst. I’m sure it was well worth the money spent. It really does look nice and hope it sounds as good with those new pickups.

I was getting ready to type the exact response before I read yours. Gold hardware is typically not for me but that looks beautiful.

I think gold brings out the grain in bursts and dark woods like koa.

I am also a big fan of the Tex Mex pickups from personal experience.

Welcome, new guy! Very nicely done--this makes a lot of sense compared to starting from scratch building a parts guitar. +10 style points for the white Strat switch tip.

Looks great! Even if you spent another guitar’s price making it yours. That other guitar would have just been stock too. Having “our” guitar is fun and will get us playing that one more. I believe you made the right choice.

    Enjoy!

    That's just what I thought.

Gold never clicks for me, but you did a great job with that combination. Totally tasty and eye-candy!
