Springsteen putting out 7 unreleased albums this week. Who else would you like to suddenly put out that much unknown material ?

This thing already exists but they are the undisputed Springsteens of hair metal.

The only, only, (no I’m serious) only thing I would ever like to see by Bon Jovi is the schtick that they’ve been doing all the while Phil X has been in the band where they either spin a wheel with song titles on it, or the audience submits song ideas, and - these are all covers.
Indeed, there are for example the Leon Suites, an improvised album rejected by the record company that ended up becoming Outside 1.0. It leaked a few years ago in good quality, but it would be great to see an official release.

I'm pretty curious about the Springsteen albums myself, in particular the Streets of Philadelphia one. It's a song that sounds very different to the rest of his catalogue and I wonder what the rest of the sessions sound like.

In terms of outtakes, I love Bob Dylan's bootleg series, lots of wonderful music lovingly packaged with great liner notes and context. But it's a pretty unique case that is the result of Bob Dylan a) being very creative and hardworking over a really long career b) having the habit of recording live in the studio, which generates many complete outtakes and c) having pretty bad judgement when deciding what to put out. The result is an embarrassment of riches and there is still stuff in the vaults, apparently.

Live 1966, Live 1975 and Trouble In Mind are insanely good live albums that easily surpass his official live albums.

The Cutting Edge, Fragments and the Basement Tapes are great studio outtakes.

No one else has more worthwhile extras and unreleased versions of songs than Bob Dylan.

If he has four takes of a single song besides the one that we all know? All of them are gonna be different. Some will be in a different tempo and others will be in different keys.

And yeah, some will be better than the one we know.
When did you last see him in concert?

Here’s how legit Bruce Springsteen is.

I like very very little of the typical Bruce Springsteen thing. I can’t stand saxophone in rock. Sorry Clarence, God rest your soul - I always hated the sax.

The whole east coast thing with horns and keys and freaking glockenspiel up in the mix and Guitars down in the mix?

Lord help me.

And Frankie, Tommy, Tammy, Billy, Vinny, and all the rest of the boardwalk rats that he would sing about ? And how many times he’d use the “Well mister, …” trope. 🙄

And ? I still love tons and tons of his music.

He has been prolific, but his batting average is pretty damn high too.

I could go through every single one of his official releases, and pick at least one song from each to put on a playlist.

And I’m pretty sure that born to run and thunder Road and whatever that “screen door slammed“ song is and all those ones that have been played to death were once great songs, but I never need to hear them again.

But most fans of his differ. And I do consider myself a fan of Bruce.

Oh, and someone mentioned the sessions where he did streets of Philadelphia? I’ve listened to that whole thing and it’s really good.

👍🏽

LOL. When my mother moved to her retirement home she gave me her three disc Springsteen Anthology set, probably a hundred songs and I've never heard one of them. None of the top dozen or so I know. Dude wrote and recorded a lot of songs.

There are a number of bootlegs of Van Halen out there, from their early 70s bar-band days, where they cover Bowie, ZZ Top, Robin Trower, other hard rock of their day. I'd love to hear that stuff restored and upgraded using the best possible audio techniques. Maybe AI could do this.

Talk Talk.

Mark Hollis was a total perfectionist in the studio, so I'd like to think there should be a bunch of alternate/early/rejected/abandoned takes.

But yeah, I'd probably only listen once.

I'd like to have Willis Alan Ramsey release 7 albums of material and/or the Turnpike troubadours and the Jayhawks and I'd pay 1000.00 for the second Silver record.

To find out why fans actually go to his concerts?
Frankly I wouldn’t cross the street to attend his concert. He started out great but since then he changed,I changed and the world changed. IMG_5311.jpeg

On the show Weeds, one of the funniest episodes was a guy who ran for city council, his platform was based on his slogan 'change brings problems'
ha ha! I wonder if Bruce thinks he changed... I'd bet he'd say not really.

What is the old saying 'life isn't about discovering who you are, its about determining who you want to be'

Man, I just saw a live performance clip of “it’s my life” and that dude was really something special. I need to dig into the records of his I haven’t heard. Actually saw them open up for Elvis Costello in the early 80s.

Yep, he was a special talent.

The live performances from Montreux in 1986 on utoob are great. They didn't play live much so you are lucky to have seen them. I never did, sadly.

'The Colour of Spring' is still one of my favourite albums of all time.

Do the naysayers really understand music? Songs are entirely personal to the listen, and can often have a profound effect on an individual. Release it all if the artist is happy to do so, you don't have to buy or listen to it. Especially in this day and age, where you can audition music. Unlike the days of physical media.

So basically, your opinions and conclusions about his fans are based on ignorance?
