welp, there's a major dose of deja vu ...

I'm right back in dad's '66 Mustang, coming home from grampap's house in the early summer evening

    so, so long ago

Love that riff. I liked what Barry Adamson did with it, too.

JR Cobb, who co-wrote the song, was in both bands – Classics IV and the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

"Spooky" was originally an instrumental song performed by saxophonist Mike Sharpe (Shapiro), written by Shapiro and Harry Middlebrooks Jr, which first charted in 1967 hitting No. 57 on the US pop charts. Its best-known version was created by James Cobb and producer Buddy Buie for the group Classics IV when they added lyrics about a "spooky little girl". The vocalist was Dennis Yost.

At least I don’t remember it. Seems like I’ve always associated that song with the Classic IV.

Easy to do. Growing up with the Classic IV version, it was much later in life that I realized the ARS was not the Classic IV just rehashing the song.

Anyway, yeah deja vu for me too. Such great memories with this song.
