I love the version by The Blind Boys of Alabama.
Judging by Mr. Diamond’s output I would say that though he’s Jewish by birth his religion is either Christian or Money.
He is very coy and obviously taking advantage of the ambiguity.
The Kentucky Headhunters did a smoking cover of this.
I love some of the little details that were recorded, coming from the guitar (or its signal chain).
But I am with Dismalhead. I never want to hear the recording as a whole, ever again. And I rather doubt I would be receptive to a cover that hasn't got any of the unique bits from the original record.
One hit wonder named Norman. Was he Jewish? What do I care? I have played with plenty of guys with Jewish parents. Which ones? Not even sure. It made no impact at all, on their contribution.
lol, yes I watched that and it was woefully scary, but hey it looked all were having fun .... maybe the alcohol?
I always hated that song! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
But always found myself tapping my toes to it!
This version is pretty true to original.
Wow, Norman looks a lot different now!
It's the red hair that made the difference.
Wasn't the solo played by Russ Dashiell?
