The kids and I give it 8 thumbs up. One of the best Marvel movies to date. Definitely worth seeing in 3D. And fellow yinzer Michael Keaton was great. Plus some Ramones thrown in for good measure.
And even picked up some issues at the comic shop we've been searching for!

What I don't understand about how the movie is marketed is that they go "The main difference with the Toby McGuire movies, is that Peter Parker is a teenager."

Which makes me go "Err, right, have you guys even WATCHED those movies?"

A teenager eating lunch in a high school cafetaria, getting trouble with bullying jocks.

If anything, the McGuire Spider man is true to the original source material.

I hear ya. I think their meaning may be that the actor is actually a teenager?? Regardless this blows those movies out of the water. And thankfully we didn't have to endure the story of him turning into Spider-Man. Again.

Edit - their not they're. Just in case the flying banana hammock happens to be proofreading.

I think their bringing back Spiderman's root's to the original comics. In the beginning
books he was in High school, then slowly as the years went on left and was a photographer
at the Daily Beagle and so on. I'm glad their starting off right.

I too liked Micheal Keaton as the vulture. I don't know I can't go more than 5/10. Like a lot of movies-kind of entertaining in the moment but not thought provoking at all to me

It's a comic book movie, not War & Peace. It's an escape. You really expected it to be thought provoking? Seriously?

It's lame that they gave Spiderman a supersuit. I'll skip it.

It was very campy ... just how a Spiderman movie should be. I liked it.

My wife thought the Stark thing was way over played.

Michael Keaton stole the show. He was in top form.

I like your attitude! When I go see a comic book movie, I'm not expecting Shakespeare, and I would probably get up and leave if it turned out to be just that. When you go see a comic book movie, you're making a run at being a kid again, not looking for Oscar winning performances. I don't wanna see spider man humping some broad, nor spouting great truths, I wanna see him kick a$$!

The kids and I are comic book junkies. They've got us on the line. And we were entertained. That's all I was expecting.

NOT a comic book, Comicon, nerd, action figure , KISS lover or even a Star Wars fanatic (don't all those go together ?)

But - I love the majority of the Marvel movies and I'm looking forward to this one

He's only in high school for the first part of that film.

Right, and he was a sophomore in Homecoming. And if what I read about the sequel is correct, it is supposed to cover his junior year.

The new guy was fine, although I don't buy him as being that young. Keaton was great. Marisa Tomei didn't have much dialogue, perhaps more of her. Lacked in story & too much CGI driven filler for me, but realistically, this is the general nature of the genre. Enjoyable, summertime escapism.

I'll probably go see it. I do enjoy a movie on a summer night. Don't want to think too much at one of those, just some action, some humor, perhaps a little romance. I just want to walk out feeling like I ate too much popcorn and didn't waste my money.

    Is it better than Ant-Man?

About the same as Ant-Man. I might give the edge to Ant-Man.
