Ahhhh! Peace in the neighborhood
I've done something similar. New neighbors thought they'd throw a little shindig blaring profanity laced gangsta rap thru a boom box out in their back yard. My studio is in a detached building in our back yard with roll up door. Had the kid roll both half stacks Kustom Double Cross and Soldano Decatone up to the open door and we let loose with a rendition of Dead Kennedy's Chemical warfare at max volume. By the time we turned down we noticed theirs was down to a whisper and 3 seconds later all we heard was OK we get it! Never had another noise issue with them sense.
Good for the OP. One of my neighbors has taken up throwing knives. Some bs about protecting his place from intruders. So he is out throwing knives 2-3 times daily for 30 minutes to an hour each time. I obviously don’t care what he does except that he seems to miss his targets 99% of the time with the knives falling on concrete and clanging to holy heel. I want to go over there and slap him upside the head. Other neighbors feel the same way. Not playing with a full deck.
Slap him upside the head. If he throws a knife at you in anger you know he’ll miss.
Seems like bouncing throwing knives off the cement wouldn't help their balance...maybe mention that..... and that maybe a piece of astro-turf below the target might be a good idea.
yeah, but he plays djentstep in drop J#tuning.
wow, whatever happened to that great 'welcome-wagon' American tradition? I remember we would go out to meet the new neighbors the minute they showed up. Nevertheless - it sounds like you have done your best to be a friendly neighbor, and it sounds like you have nice new neighbors moving in. I hope that we will hear stories soon about how well you all get along!
oh you're killing me! This was one of my wife's favorite-ever records.
wherein California is this?
IDK, one time my neighbor-behind us-parents went out of town they were playing music too loud and my dad grabbed a pipe wrench, walked around the corner, opened up the street meter for electricity, and shut off their power for a few hours. this was the first time they had done this, but it was really loud and annoying.
I'm been party to some antics with friends, doing stupid things, letting off steam, nothing I'll ever admit under oath, but yeah, sounds like some a-holes, glad things are better.
@Torren61 Sorry man, but this was all a dream. The jerks are still there.
It’s amazing how important having “good neighbors” becomes the older one becomes. Congratulations and enjoy your new neighbors.
Great News! First half of your post was working me up! Glad it all ending well!
Ya know how idiots can be indignant?
BTW, we were video recording him once (he can’t see us unless he really knew where to look) to show to friends and at one point he threw a knife that missed the target and bounced back at him striking him not too far from his central business district if you know what I mean. Didn’t do much except to cause him to stop that session. I am so hoping for a different outcome if it happens again.
i thank my Higher Power that i have mostly had good neighbors. this is even more important beings as the houses are only about 14 feet apart.
my bit of experience with people and neighbors is "works vs don't work". people trying to make a living aren't interested in causing troubles, people who live on A Check have more time for foolishness. IMHO.
Congrats on the NND. New neighbours day.
Wonderful news... very happy for you!
I hate my neighbors more than anything I can think of. Hate.
Couple months back they put a for sale sign in the yard. The whole street rejoiced.
Sign disappeared a couple days later. They’re still there. My wife cried.
I can't imagine the joy that went through your heart when she said this........
my neighbours are cool.... one guy even comments when he doesn't hear my guitar amps....
are you OK ? I haven't heard you playing for a while....
