Why not? And while I'm here are there other people who've masked off the stripe and matched it to the body finish? Might be a nice addition to a matched headstock.

I may regret this in a few years but for now I'm sparkling everything!

Can you feel the glitter through the finish?

No, I did 3 coats with glitter then about a dozen of just clear with a bit of sanding between some coats. I'm also using tiny flakes, .04" instead of the more common .15" used in many sparkle jobs so it buries very easily. The poly-acrylic I'm using also seems to not have the problem of sinking as times goes on like many lacquers do.

I know the feeling. My next planned sparkling will be a smoked silver sparkle with a deep green holoflake. Much more butch.

can you be butch and sparkle?!

just accept it... you've jumped into the deep end of sparkly guitars. your friends will laugh... your girlfriend will raise an eyebrow... but you will be all sparkly and glittery like the sun on stage, so who cares?!

my avatar is a gold sparkle tele. its pretty obnoxious and flamboyant... but i love it to death. i'm a certified sparkle-o-phile. sometimes i'll just space out and stare at it while it's on the wall

I will sometimes shine a bright LED flashlight at my guitars to watch the holoflake sparkle. :)

I think I'm developing a preference for smaller flakes, we'll see if that holds as I build up a tolerance to the smaller flakes. I like the sparkle but not so much the look of large flakes. I might try a finish with just a light sprinkling of sparkles instead of full coverage, a softer more subtle sparkle...
