I used to gig in clubs up & down the east coast of Australia years ago (mainly Sydney) and used to collect the club & hotel drink coasters from venues we played at.

I found them all in an old shoebox today. Dozens & dozens of them.

Think I'll buy a double glass top coffee table or glass top on my drinks bar to show them off.

Anyone else collect weird stuff from gigs (besides groupies):D

Timothy B. Schmitt donated a duffle bag to the RNRHOF. It was full of room keys from all the hotels he stayed at when he was with The Eagles.

The drummer grabbed a 1.75L of Maker's Mark at a recent country club gig.

I have a good collection of dents, dings, and scratches on my Tele. At least one from each gig.

I save every written song-request on napkins, etc., that say"Skynard."

I used to have a pretty good collection of drink coasters with phone numbers and various "invitations" written on them.

I started gigging well before I was married and continued after the divorce, and one interesting thing that I noticed is that I was propositioned an awful lot more when I had the wedding ring on than when I didn't.

Only things I tend to take from a gig is unclaimed (sealed) beer.

    Hahahahaha!

Both John and I are embarrassingly sentimental about gigs - our walls are full of posters from shows we've played and we have a curtain rod FULL of laminates (backstage passes, crew passes, etc).

I already feel like I have too much crap to bring home from a gig without accumulating more. I do keep a spreadsheet listing the date, place, pay and any memorable moments though.
