    Hey all,

This probably sounds dumb, but does anyone have ideas or sources for boxes that can securely hold 10" and 12" speakers?

I've got a few different combo amps and cabs with speakers in them, and I'm planning on pulling the speakers and unloading the cabs/amps. It's going to be enough speakers (at least 10, most likely) that I don't want to put them into boxes where they won't be snug and secure.

Has anyone come across anything in the right dimensions, that's readily available?

the post office has a standard large flat rate box that is 12" square and works very well. You need to provide your own packing materials. But the size of the box itself is just right.

    Get them deep, like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BT3I9P0/

First speaker goes in face down. Place a square of cardboard atop that as a little bit of cushioning, and the 2nd speaker goes in face up. Just for storage...not shipping!

How do the magnets like this? As in, the fields affecting each other?

Awesome, thanks for that. Just ordered 25 of them.

Hopefully I'll come across something similar in a 10X10X? for all of the 10" speakers.

ULINE has just about any size you could want, but they sell in lots of 25 and 50.

It does not adversely affect the magnets. Handle them gently and don't bang them around; rough handling and heat are what damage speaker magnets.

The large flat rate box from USPS is great for 10" speakers. For 12" it's a tight fit, but may work for just storage. DO NOT ship a 12 in that box.

Unfortunately I have purchased several 12" speakers and the sellers have used these same boxes for shipping them. Luckily none of them have been damaged yet but it is a bit nerve wrecking when I see them arrive in these boxes. One seller actually placed old LP records in the top and bottom of the box to add some protection from the box being crushed.

Check with some local car audio shops, I bet they throw out speaker boxes all the time, also places that sell new car and truck wheels have some heavy duty boxes.

USPS has them free of charge until you ship them.

Great idea, and I just checked out how popular 10" sub drivers are, and there look to currently be plenty of them. A percentage of my 10s have beefier magnets (Emi Ragin Cajun & Ramrod, Weber Calif 10 ceramic), so they should fit in a box for a 10" sub nicely.
