you oughta be!
I'm really not, but it's too good not to post.
The world needs more Lynda Carters circa 1976 wearing Wonder Woman outfits.
And she never cut her hair like that...... Captain Marvel lady.
Was there anything good on TV in the 70s? Anything at all?
There was much more watchable content on TV in the 70's than there is today and we only had 3 or 4 channels back then.
Reruns of Combat, The Rat Patrol, Gilligan's Island, The Six Million Dollar Man, Here's Lucy, Laverne and Shirley, Welcome Back Kotter etc, I dream of Jeannie, The Brady Bunch etc. All better viewing than the "reality" shows they bomb the TV with today.
Lynda Carter, loved her in that Wonder Woman costume. A real beauty, dark hair and blue eyes, and a nice figure. Wow
What's cracking me up is the low-rent Donald Fagen vibe on the lead vocal. The melody and phrasing on the "satin tights" couplet are straight-up Steely Dan.
EDIT: I think the signature SD thing here is doing a rhyming couplet over two bars where there are chord changes on the two count. It's a simple but effective technique for propelling a verse along. (Also, on further reflection, the phrasing here isn't perfectly Donald Fagen; he would not have done the slight fall at the end of "tights;" he would have cut the note off clean.)
That's debatable. Reality TV is crap for sure, but so is the Brady Bunch and crap like that.
My mates and I watched Starsky and Hutch. One of them even painted his car with the infamous stripe. Given that it was a slightly rusty Vauxhall it didn't have quite the same cool factor. Happy days.
We watch mostly OTA TV, and WW shows up on the MeTV network (I think) sometimes. If it comes on my wife immediately switches the channel... It may be because she thinks WW is just a really bad show, but the way she mumbles "I don't know how those things never pop out" makes me believe there's something else going on. Me being the good husband, I try to ignore it all...
I not only wondered that same thing, but was fervently watching with great anticipation for just such an event to occur!
That reminds me of an interlude I had once with Wonder Woman at a Halloween party! Good times!
About 12 years ago my local 24/7 gas station started to get frequented by hookers, one would always wear a Wonder Woman outfit. I was never tempted but it did call for a good look as I drove past.
Perfect role model for my granddaughter Now if my wife could fit into that costume...
Don’t forget Hogan’s Heroes!
Oh c'mon now buddy, don't tease, tell us:
And did she deploy her "lasso of truth"?
