New Orleans, LA + in the
Party Fears Two, by the Associates.

We were at a club in Baton Rouge last night, couple performers, but I couldn't hear them much of the time. Because the radio signal (of sorts) in my brain was playing Party Fears Two and it drowned out the signal from the live performers.

Sign of the Times-Petula Clark

I took this photo with my phone - this is Petula Clark boarding the same plane I was boarding on the way to play the same gig (playing on a cruise). I'm pretty certain I was the only one who spotted her, the other passengers had no idea.

I was lucky enough to end up sitting next to her and Chris Montez for breakfast towards the end of the gig. She was very sweet and Chris Montez was the nicest guy - seriously, a laid back California dude who talked to me like I was somebody and not just a backing guitar player. He offered to sell me his original 1960s Fender amp - I forget how much he wanted but I just didn't have it. 😢 He said he found it in his parent's garage after it was sitting in there collecting dust for a few decades.

Not gonna scan 47 pages in case someone beat me to it, but the German version of "99 Luftballons" never fails to put a grin on my face. And besides, that singer is hot!!!
