I've always liked "3/5 Mile in 10 Seconds" by Jefferson Airplane on their "live" Bless Its Pointed Little Head album. The drum intros and outros bookend a pretty solid song. The drum outro always gets me.

    I immediately thought of this:

You need some really nice floor standing speakers being cranked by at least 100 watts.

Being a drummer, the correct answer is EVERYTHING. All of the other crap on a recording is just noise.

This guy deserves a lot more attention. Great song, but those drums..., sometimes I just listen to the snare.

Well, not only for the drums, but I had Billy Squier's "Lonely is the Night" stuck in my head this morning and was thinking about how much they just "breathe" in the space of this song.

I like British drummers because they always improve on American drummers :).

Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy

    Clash - Janie Jones

    The Specials - Concrete Jungle

    Gotta love the Roland TR-808

LL Cool J - Going Back To Cali

Two of my all-time favorite songs. It would be interesting to hear both with different drum tracks.

This whole recording is Ed Blackwell drumming bliss, but 13:56 isn't a bad place to start.

Old And New Dreams - Nervi Italy 1979
