Anything by Santana. I tire quickly of his guitar playing, but his percussion section is fire. In fact, if Carlos Santana just didn't show up to one of his gigs I might enjoy his band better.

This thread reminds me of a anecdote.

Maybe 5 years back when he was in his mid-70s, I played Stairway to Heaven to my now deceased jazz pianist father, who had never heard it. As the song played, I just pointed out how the drum part had been crafted to augment the guitars and bass and how it build to the end.

Dad never had much regard for rock music, and even less for drummers, but he was pretty much blown away at the awesomeness, which says a lot about my dad's open mindedness and a lot about how damn good that drum part is.

I wouldn’t say I only like it for the drums, but it’s a great drum part.

That dude in the sport coat looks like he is playing an Epiphone very similar to my first guitar.

Most Phil Collins, anything produced by Mutt Lange. Mutt gets guitar and drum sounds that no one else seems to be able to match.

Ether is great from top to bottom as is the rest of that album. Love it.

The OP nailed it right of the bat with Zeppelin. John Bonham is the only draw for me with that band.

When I was living in Chicago there was a scene of bands that included Tortoise, The Coctails, Shrimp Boat, The Sea and Cake, etc. I was not really into any of them but I liked some of the drumming by John McEntire. He had a kind of Motorik beat meets Tropicália kind of thing going. The beginning of this song I really liked when it came out.

Man, what a huge opportunity to have had at that age. I'm envious.

I was watching a video where they were talking about Don’t Fear the Reaper and they isolated the drum track for a couple of bars. I thought “Why did they burry that drum sound in the mix.”

Here’s the whole song with drums isolated.
