I believe the Will Ray showed off one of these in his Bottom Feeder articles that he used to post in a Guitar Magazine. Can't remember which one it was though.

I saw this hanging out in Guitar Centers used section. It was listed as needing work. The price was something like $85.
$25 Shipping approx I was bored and figured what the hell.
It arrived and was actually playable. Looked like it was played a lot as a matter of fact. I decided it was worthy of a rehab.

The neck needed a lot of TLC. The fingerboard was very neglected. I spent most of my time on the fingerboard. Bought some Music Nomad F-One Oil, some very fine sandpaper and buffing pads and went to town. Did a Spot Fret Level. Oiled up the tuners.

The pickups were okay. But not voiced for a 12 String IMO. So, I bought a Guitar Madness Vintage Tele Set..Alnico 5 Hybrid Bridge and a Alnico 3 for the neck.
Someone did a real sloppy wiring mod previously. They had a Blue Box Trimmer spliced into the Tone Pot. However, you cant get to the pots unless you remove the neck. The Neck PU wont allow the pickguard to slide under the fingerboard tongue. Useless...

I shielded the cavities and dropped some CTS Linear and Audio pots into it. Bought a better 047 Cap as well. Also realized that there wasn't a ground wire hooked up.

I got it put back together. My wiring turned out great. Pickups seem to be very punchy. Its VERY quiet sitting while plugged in with my amp on clean and at half volume. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far. I have some Extra Light Ernie Ball strings for it. Yeah...

The Byrds, Beatles, and The Who did it for me. Went searching for a good used Ric, but I couldn’t handle the neck size and string spacing. Much narrower than my Ovation 12. Shop owner says try this and shows me a lovely Jerry Jones Neptune 12 in copper - three pick ups, with case. Ok, yes, it’s not a Ric. But it does some really nice jangle. I got it for a song compared to what people are asking for these today. I read that Jerry had acquired the original tooling for making the lipstick tube pick ups from Nathen Daniels. It is an upgraded Danelectro essentially.

In the '60s my older brother started learning guitar and we both loved and were influenced by the Beatles and Byrds. I have always loved the sound of a 12.
He bought a Le Boz (Japanese) electric 12-string. Ugly green sunburst but sounded pretty good. Not a Ric but did have some 12 jangle.

When I started collecting guitars a few years ago I didn't plan on buying a 12 and I couldn't afford anything expensive.
Just around the time my older brother passed (3 years ago) MF had a closeout price on a Dean Boca 12 and I grabbed one. Weird guitar, Dean is known for shredders and how did this fit their line-up?
Turns out I really like it. Not easy to play but decent quality, decent neck and frets and the HBs actually don't sound as bad as you would think. Eventually I plan to swap in some HB-sized single-coils for more clarity and high-end jangle.
Korean quality, I like it and it is a keeper. I call it the poster child of neck dive, with the 339-size hollow body and wide 12 neck the balance point is somewhere halfway down the neck, LOL. The Martin strap collar makes it balance well on my shoulder.

It actually does a pretty good job of Stairway and Hotel California when someone else plays it, LOL!

My 2 cents...
Okay a Mosaic not as good as say a Ric 360-12 but much less trouble and it works well with a Telecaster!
I'd love to give one of those a try out.
I missed a second hand one for €50 by 2 minutes!

I watch a bunch of YouTube stuff about the Mosiac and some of the info that's here on TDPRI and purchased one about two months ago and I like it.
BTW, quite a few years ago, I owned a beautiful Fire Glo Ric 360-12 and it sounded awesome BUT I was always messing with it, either trying to keeping it in tune or bemoaning how narrow the neck was for my rather large hands. Sadly, I didn't bond with it so I sold it.
