After not hearing it for many years I put on James Brown's I Feel Good, and that key and timing change hit me so hard I cried. Maybe those aren't the kind of tears you're looking for. I don't know.

I heard this as a kid and have been moved by it ever since. A brilliant song
I can’t even with this one. Both times I’ve heard Shane sing it live it’s been a struggle. The whole verse before that line, just brutal. “I could’ve been someone... ‘well so could anyone... you took my dreams from me when I first found you’” etc.
Dirty Old Town’s another by them. Came up here the other day I think. Opening bit Body of an American too, but probably because I associate it with the police wakes in “The Wire.”
