Elvis would have been 85 last January. Still within the span of life for a man of his wealth. Unfortunately he died in 1977 and is still keenly missed.

Let’s say though he lived. What songs written since then might he have sung? And I mean really killed on in the way elvis could absolutely Devina a song.

    I’ll start

Marc Cohn - walking in Memphis. (Though the second verse is problematic)

The way it is. Bruce Hornsby

    The river - Springsteen.

Circle of life - Elton John

Crazy little thing called love - Queen. (Ok it was written as a tribute but ok).

Your turn. The cut off of 77 is loose. Earlier songs are permitted. But try and find later ones.

    Afternoon Delight
Play That Funky Music White Boy

    Cold As Ice
    Love To Love You Baby
    She’s A Lady

I can imagine him singing all of these, uh, gems.

Every breath ... hovered in and out. I also thought stings fileds of gold.

OK I'm not the greatest fan of Elvis but I absolutely 100% for sure believe he should have replaced Jim Morrison in The Doors after Morrison passed.

Flamers can flame away all they want but the ultimate truth is that Elvis would had been a perfect fit. Think about it: "Break On Through To The Other Side" would have been AMAZING with Elvis on lead vocals. So would every other Doors song.

"Riders On The Storm" could have been written for Elvis. Same for "Love Me Two Times", "L.A. Woman", "Touch Me", "Hello, I Love You" etc etc, Elvis would have knocked those tunes outta the park. Elvis + The Doors would have been the perfect fit for so many reasons.

Had he joined The Doors in 1971 he wouldn't have had to make all the sappy records he made in the 70's and his later years legacy would still be intact today.

And The Doors would have been able to carry on like business as usual with an overweight, pharmaceutically-enhanced lead singer. No change there.

Folks can argue all day long but we all know it should have gone down like that.

I would've like to have seen Rick Rubin get involved had Elvis lived. The stuff he did with Cash revitalized his career and will stand the test of time IMO.

I can't argue against this at all. It makes sense.
