Love it!

I unfortunately never had the pleasure to see them live. WNEW used to play Taking it to Detroit (it might have actually been a commercial for Rats concerts, not sure) and I went in search of that song. That's how I discovered them, and my first album was Live at Last, still have it.

I had all the rest of their stuff on 8-track! ❤️

Joe Franco has a YouTube channel with some vintage concert footage.
There is a reunion concert YouTube video with all original members around 2000, at BB King's Blues Club/NYC and they are fantastic- they got it all still in this show. Tight!

Maybe a little flat on the vocals but hell, they were getting old.
"Fireball Express" and "Taking it to Detroit" are faves of mine.

Pepe Marcello ( RIP), truly had an explosion of a voice

I love Easy Wind,
and if you listen and watch closely it's Bobby Weir who's doing that great blues lead guitar break in the background, and Jerry's mostly on rhythm, playing 7th chords. A good jam!
Yup. They have a lot of songs where Bob's in front. Like on Casey Jones: Jerry just does a quick one-verse solo, and Bob does all the heavy lifting, including their most signature hook.

I agree!
Bobby has always been a secret weapon, with his guitar playing. Definitely idiosyncratic in his guitar playing, but he's super talented/ creative
" I'm trying to play like McCoy Tyner, on the piano"

I like his singing too- some folks don't care for it.
I love it all!

- sadly never saw Jerry

Ring! Ring! It's 7:00 A.M.!
Move y'self to go again
Cold water in the face
Brings you back to this awful place
Knuckle merchants and you bankers, too
Must get up an' learn those rules
Weather man and the crazy chief
One says sun and one says sleet...
