This story reminded me of something that happened to me back in the early '80s.
I was managing a record shop in the old Colonial Mall in Orlando (part of a local chain called Record Stop or Record City or Record Something). One day, a guy walks in and starts browsing. Young guy, few years older than me (I was about 25-26 at the time), short dude, dark hair in a mullet, black band shirt. After a moment, he makes a beeline to the "M" section in the rock albums and begins flipping through the discs in the bin.
He walks over to the counter and asks me why there were no Molly Hatchet albums in the bin. (IIRC, that band had at least three released LPs at that time). I mentioned that my weekly restock order hadn't come in and they would probably arrive later in the week as I was likely just sold out after the weekend (they were pretty popular at the time, so I'm certain I would have restocked them).
I told the guy I could check with the other stores and if we had any, I would have one sent over that day. He just smiled and said it was OK, then he casually said something like "I guess you didn't recognize me" or to that effect. He then told me he was Riff West, Molly's current bass player. I tried not to show how unimpressed I was with this information (I wasn't a fan and was familiar with only one song, "Flirtin' With Disaster"), but I believe I said something like "Oh, well, that's great, thanks for coming in, I'm sure I'll have your band's records in this week."
He chatted for a moment and left. I concluded to myself that this guy was kind of an egotistical a$$, though the meeting could end up low on my "Touched By Greatness" history list somewhere, and I held that opinion of him, unfairly, I suppose, for many years.
Riff actually passed in 2014, apparently due to some medical complications following a serious car accident. Some time ago, I searched for his name and found this obit on the guy, and learned that he was apparently a pretty generous guy who used his talent to help out some fine organizations. I may not have been much of a Molly fan (that one song is pretty good), but he's moved up on the aforementioned list a few spots.

That's an OK story, I think mine is better.
My wife loves to do these outside the box things, so she got this wild idea to be a promoter in our neck of the woods for contemporary christian artist.
So I had this dude that I loved his songs so as a birthday present she rents a large auditorium and became a promoter for this guy. He was from Dallas so the cost to come to OK was not too bad, all told I think it maybe cost me a couple of hundred dollars or we came really close to breaking even.
So a year later she is talking to a friend of hers who has this outdoor amplitheatre who wanted to put on a concert but did not know how to go about it. Well my wife stepped up and volunteered to organize it for her, from tickets down to the artists.
I was not involved in the planning until one day she asked for help on the artists. She starts naming bands off, yep heard of them, yep they are good, yep they have a song playing on the radio right now, etc etc. Then she gets to the last band and asked, "you ever heard of Audio Adrenaline?"
Well I just happened to take up bass and the first album that I attempted to play along to was an Audio Adrenaline album and I just happened to have this poster in my music room.
I also had this picture of him live in concert.
The person in the picture is their bass player who I was trying to emulate. I just loved the raw emotion of the picture so I printed out a copy and had it on my wall.
So when she mentioned that Audio A would be playing the show and I would get to meet the bands as I was working back stage security I was stoked.
So the day arrives and the band is loading in and I jump into help. Now keep in mind we were loading in 4 acts for that night's concerts so there was a lot of gear. I of course gravitated toward the bass stuff and helped unload an old 4x10 cabinet and head as well as a couple of bass guitar cases.
There was this dude kind of directing traffic, saying to take this there, put that there. Anyway he is wearing this Scottish driving cap with the ear flaps pulled down, a light windbreaker, khaki shorts and duck boots. I was just taking direction from this roadie who was unloading gear always keeping my eye out for the bass player who I never saw.
Later in the day I am back stage milling around the artist and I see the cap wearing, duck booted guy sitting in with the bands. I almost went up and said something about the area being for the artist only but I left it along. So the time comes for them to go on stage and I go back and tell them they have ten minutes.
The duck booted guy gets up, takes off the cap and locks of glorious blonde hair fall outs and he starts to fix his hair. Its the dude!! I had been working for an hour with him and never realized he was the guy I had pictures of in the music room.
I told on myself after the show, telling him I was a fan and a bass player as well. All he said was, "man, that's too bad, I would have loved to talk bass with you a bit."

This list I just read (dated October 14, 2022) has five, actually (Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, Natural Light, Busch Light, Bud Light).
None of which, in my total beer snob opinion, are drinkable under any conditions.
But that's just me.
I don't mind the music, but the production of the vocals is just not for me. Otherwise it would sound like regular rob zombie to me.
I like that song, not because of the woohoo, meaning, but because of the diction of fat mike.

i can guarantee you, had it been NOFX, my son would've been absolutely starstruck.
He would've got selfies with them and autographs and all of that
I do agree with that. I am not a fan of covers for the most part. Some songs are sacred and should never be remade.
To me sound of silence is a Simon and Garfunkel only ....
I guess I do live under a rock because I have no clue to NOFX...lol

I don't mind some covers. I'm not even a big Disturbed fan but they made it their own. If anything, a testament to how good the song is regardless of who does it.

My two daughters and their friend went to the Dominion Theatre in London to see the musical "We will rock you!" Arriving early they retired to a back street pub for 1/2 an hour. As they leave the pub a roller pulls up and an aging rocker gets out.
"Hi girls you goin' to the show?"
After much giggling and many photos taken the aging rocker departs, leaving daughters ecstatic!
Friend then says "Who was that guy?"
Daughters "Brian May!!"
Friend "Who's he?"

Outraged she said to her friend "Did you see that?!!"
Friend said "OMG! That was George Harrison!"
Daughter "I don't care who he is, he's a dirty old man!"
At that time George owned the estate right next door to Henly College and Henly residents, being cool, pretended not to recognise him as he wandered about.
