So, my son is currently delivering beer for Budweiser.
Yesterday morning he pulls up into the Alliant Center to make a delivery and a bunch of guys are hanging out there- they ask him is he's a fan of Five Finger Death Punch, and he replies, "not really, no"

Turns out it was the band.
:D
I say good. Keep 'em humble

I see nothing wrong with not recognizing a band outside one's own taste. Even bands whose music I recognize I couldn't pick out in a lineup. Our exposure to culture is so narrowed and focused by the algorithms these days it's easy to miss anything outside of your core interest.

I know who they are but I'd have had the same response.

I rang up/otherwise met a few "famous" people (from "universally" known celebrities to the president of a local university) while working in retail. No one whose work or other doings I was particularly interested in, though. They were all just people who were selling or buying books.

I know who they are, but I'd have to answer the same. I mean, hey, they asked.

A steel guitar engagment.
I never heard one of their songs but I'm betting the band name came from this 1970's martial arts film.

I put my foot in it one day with a head coach and general manager of an NHL team. The team had even won the Stanley Cup that year and I didn't recognize him. He even asked if I liked hockey and I said no. And when he asked if I did who would I cheer for I gave the name of another team in eastern Canada.

I totally didn't recognize him. No sport coat or bad words to lip read off the television, just a guy with a plaid shirt and a beer sitting on the deck while we were playing on the trampoline. All I knew was his son and I skateboarded together.

I’ve heard of a lot of bands.

That doesn’t mean I know their stuff, much less what they look like.

However, I have learned to say, “I don’t really know their stuff, but I’ll give anything a spin…why do you ask?”
Because I’ve met some guys who drop all pretentiousness and try to win you over as a fan.

I won tickets on the radio to a guy (Chris Whitley) that I knew only one song by…and ended up a huge fan.

Ya never know what you’ll get if you remain hopefully optimistic.

I've never heard of the band either. I guess some form of inbreeding could result in five fingers on one hand but I wouldn't go around making a spectacle of it.
