It’s an old MIJ guitar. I have owned several and always sold them. Why do I think I need this? Why is this old guitar something I want? What thoughts?
What crazy thing makes me want this?

I gave an obscure re-brand MIJ guitar that I bought to my brother-in-law for a wedding present. One of the dumbest things I ever did. And I set a high bar for “dumb things I did.”

Kind of like my weird obsession with Peavey Bandits. I feel your pain.

I do the same with Les Pauls. I always want them and never keep them. I haven’t touched the one in my avatar in months, but if I get rid of it, I’ll just buy another.

I’m confused… Do you mean to tell me that people actually part with guitars?

I went through a really big MIJ kick 2-3 years ago.

Got really into 80s Ibanez and stuff like Orville Les Pauls. Really high quality stuff. I do still miss my ‘81 Destroyer and Orville LP sometimes. Great guitars.

I have an old Norma with goldfoils. I wouldn't part with that for 5 times what I paid for it. It's got cool all over it. Keep them.

What exactly are we talking about? Is it an old, cr**y Japanese acoustic?.....or an early eighties MIJ Fender, which are awesome? Or...if, as I suspect, it's like the first guitar you learned on and has sentimental value? If that's the case....buy it, hang it on the wall, and gaze at it with affection all you want. :):):)

I have a guild tbird that sounds fantastic. A gritty rock n roll machine and it looks like gumby. My girl makes fun of that guitar all the time.

I feel the same way about Fender amps. I want one, buy it, play it for a couple months, go back to Vox, sell the Fender, repeat in a couple of years.

Its gotten so obvious that my wife calls me out when I start looking at Fender amps, and she is the rare and precious significant other that actually encourages me to buy music stuff.

I guess its grass is greener syndrome. Like fantasizing about that job you think you want or the woman you never had. That sort of thing.

The GAS has passed for the Electra Omega… thanks for all your support through this tough time. Now, back to another ASAT.

    Nice try, Big Brother.
I just spent a solid two weeks looking at off-brand MIJ semi-hollows from the 60s and 70s on Reverb. Then bought a brand new Classic Vibe Starcaster made in Indonesia...

I've literally stopped looking at THE next potential guitar. I'm due a bit of compensation from a work accident that I had 3 years back, and injured my lower back. So, have been tiring myself out looking and finally got bored of the whole thing (well, for today anyhow...o_O). I mean yesterday it was a Vintera Mustang, Player Tele, or Duo Sonic. Day before a Danelectro 59 of some type. Then a Silvertone, or Gretsch G5622T....a Strat......a Blah...etc.....
GAS gimme peace. Oh, and as for those guitars, amps that no longer fit, and are unused.....sell em!
