I'm curious as to may effects folks have that are a little out of the ordinary. Pedals you turn to for one or two specific sounds that others might find hard to use. An intense filter? An incredibly fast tremolo? What's on your board to do something different?

I love the Blue Box. Then fuzz is great by itself but set properly the octaver is like an angry Nintendo.

I'd not come across this. "Angry Nintendo" is a great description. Sounds like if Mario finally got sick of rescuing the princess and just went over the edge!!

@blowtorch thanks for all these - looks like I've got a few demos to watch! Certainly some zany sounds in a few of those. I liked the data corrupter a lot from the snippet I heard.

Do you ever just grab a looper and a bunch of these pedals and make some crazy noise?

    now having said all that-
some of the craziest racket I've ever gotten has been from just simply running a fuzz into a phaser, trem, and delay-all at extreme self-oscillating settings

Foxx Tone Machine. Killer fuzz, but the magic happens when you turn on the octave, which is by far the best octave fuzz I have found. You can crank the fuzz all the way down and get a fairly clean octave up, or crank the fuzz and go for it.

I need to build a version where the octave is footswitchable and use an expression pedal for the fuzz control.

    Pitch shifting.

I like the strange ringy, sightly latent sound from my Digitech ricochet. Used in moderation, things like this keep your sound interesting.

I'd rather sound terrible than boring.
