Curious if anyone has built anything out of a Fender Super 60 before. I bought a Fender Super 60 amp off with a burned pcb (modding mistake) off Craigslist for $30 thinking I would try and make something British out of the chassis trannies and misc bits, there is a thread where someone made a Hoffman Plexi 50 out there but the thread stops before it was complete. The trannies are both Schumachers. The output transformer is C018343 which is the same as a Bandmaster. The PWR is a C029032 I can't find any info on it the diagram says it is 54 brn 355red 6.4grn no center taps. sup60.jpg sup60out.jpg sup60pwr.jpg

Try turning it into a model of a London bus, that's well British.

(You need red paint for that)

    That is the one.

I can just see the Who, the Kinks, the Beatles and the Stones getting on board.

    Nice.

You can't build something British unless you're here. What you would be building would be an offshore fake copy.

yeah, geographically speaking you are correct. However, picnhegil could build a tweed amp...which is what the Brits copied to achieve that ‘Brit’ sound, right??? (;^)

    pinchegil.......interesting moniker there.

Ok, so he can build an American copy of a British copy of an American amp.

I'd just get the Chinese to do it, much cheaper in the long run. :D

It was a response to a practical joke pulled a on a colleague at the Asuncion Airport in Paraguay in 2002. It has stuck with me every since

The first sentence gave me a chuckle...and yes, everything is derived from RCA circuits, I suppose, at the basic level. Leo Fender acknowledge as mush with the info in his tube charts.

Regarding the second thought, the transformers and chassis might be preferable to anything that would be put into a Made in China guitar amp, imho. And....pinchegil might want the satisfaction of creating?
The voltages would be high for some Marshall circuits as designed.

No problems here, Beagle, therefor no grief involved. If the joke was about the price of labor and therefor products
made anywhere in Asia, then that escaped me.
If your response is to my chuckle on the first sentence there, I was trying to pay you a compliment I suppose by enjoying the way you stated the obvious.
    Have a good one, Brother.
