If they're not dead I don't see the problem.

I've learned the less I talk and just do my job and stay invisible otherwise, the smoother everything goes. Also I never talk about coworkers unless it's in a positive light.

Don't talk about your God or your political persuasion or assume that I think the way you think about anything personal. If you're "phobic" about anything don't bring your people phobias into my office.

Talk about your kids, talk about your dog, talk about a good movie that you saw, talk about art or music. We can talk about many things without going down a negative or potentially upsetting path.

There are too many occasions where I'm a guest in someone else's office and a man/business owner says something sexist or bigoted or phobic and I cringe. If people laugh I often think that I wouldn't hire them and I'm sort of glad that I got fair warning. It's not 1975 anymore.

There are so many positive things to talk about in a mixed group.

I don't mind cologne or perfume. I enjoy it when used properly.

I have an issue with the 'learned NOT to do' bit...

Sometimes I think my colleagues like to prove what I already know.
