Wow! Looks like a prime candidate for an idea I've been pondering for a front and back painted headstock.
At least the holes are filled.

What's the problem supposed to be here? Did someone put left handed replacement tuners on the right side, and vice versa?

Looks like it needs a set of tuners. Easy enough fix, even for an aspiring luthier. Everyone needs to start somewhere.

This is my 1995 Gibson ES-135 headstock as I pulled off what I thought were the original tuners and found these extra screw holes.

Are you saying someone did a bad job of putting non-original tuners on it? Looks OK to me.

I'm not sure I understand the reference to luthier school. Have you been and if so, did they not teach how to fill holes to make them less visible?

Honestly I think it looked better without those bright chrome locking tuners.

I would much rather have the earlier tuners than whats on there now

Unless my eyes are lying, it looks like those tuner shaft holes were drilled by a drunk under a 2-watt lightbulb.

Just put some Kluson tulip tuners back on it, that's how it came from Gibson.

Yeah, there were both screw holes open on the tops and the holes in the headstock were definitely opened up by a hack. Inconsistent between each. Size works though.
